What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device on subsequent visits and remember certain information about your preferences or actions.
In addition to cookies, websites may use similar technologies such as:
- Local Storage & Session Storage — browser-side key-value stores that do not expire with a session (local) or expire when the tab closes (session), but cannot be read by the server.
- Pixel tags / web beacons — tiny invisible images embedded in pages or emails that signal when content has been loaded.
- Fingerprinting — techniques that derive a pseudo-identifier from device characteristics without storing a traditional cookie.
This policy covers all tracking technologies used on piensas.xyz, not just cookies in the narrow sense.
Cookie Categories

Third-Party Service Cookies
Varies by serviceSet by external services integrated into our site (e.g. CDN providers, font services). These providers have their own privacy policies and cookie practices. We list known third-party services in Section 04.
First-Party Cookies (piensas.xyz)
Cookies set directly by piensas.xyz in your browser:
| Name | Purpose | Category | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes unique users for Google Analytics. Stores a randomly generated client identifier. Set by Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager, only with your consent. | Analytics | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Maintains session state for Google Analytics 4. The suffix corresponds to the GA4 Measurement ID. Set with your consent. | Analytics | 2 years |
| cookieyes-consent | Stores your cookie consent preferences set via the CookieYes banner. Strictly necessary for the consent mechanism to function correctly. | Strictly necessary | 1 year |
Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) are only placed on your device after you grant explicit consent via our cookie banner. The cookieyes-consent cookie is strictly necessary and does not require prior consent. If additional first-party cookies are introduced, this table and the “Last updated” date will be updated accordingly.
Third-Party Service Cookies
Certain external services loaded by this site may set cookies or process connection data (including your IP address) on their own servers. These services are used to deliver fonts and JavaScript module packages required for the site to render correctly.
| Service | Provider | Purpose | Category | Data sent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Fonts | Google LLC (USA) | Serves web font files (Exo 2, Inter, EB Garamond) for consistent typography. Google does not use font delivery to set persistent tracking cookies. | Strictly necessary | IP address, browser user-agent (to Google servers) |
| Tailwind CSS CDN | Tailwind Labs / CDN provider | Delivers the Tailwind CSS framework file. CDN providers may set short-lived security cookies (e.g. __cf_bm) for bot management and DDoS protection. | Strictly necessary | IP address, browser user-agent |
| esm.sh CDN | Deno Land Inc. (USA) | Delivers React and related JavaScript modules as ES modules. CDN provider may set short-lived security or caching cookies. | Strictly necessary | IP address, browser user-agent |
| Google Tag Manager | Google LLC (USA) | Tag management system that loads analytics scripts according to visitor consent choices. Does not set analytics cookies itself; controls when GA4 fires. | Analytics & Performance | IP address, browser user-agent, page URL (to Google servers) |
| Google Analytics 4 | Google LLC (USA) | Measures aggregate site usage, visitor journeys, and engagement. Loaded via Google Tag Manager only after consent is given. Sets first-party cookies _ga and _ga_* (see Section 03). | Analytics & Performance | IP address (anonymised), browser, device type, pages visited, session data (to Google Analytics servers) |
The first three services (Google Fonts, Tailwind CSS CDN, esm.sh) are used exclusively to deliver the technical assets required for this site to function. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 are used for analytics purposes with your explicit consent. Please refer to each provider’s own privacy policy for full details of their data practices.
Analytics & Marketing Cookies
Current status: piensas.xyz uses Google Analytics 4, loaded via Google Tag Manager, to measure aggregate site usage and visitor behaviour. Analytics cookies are placed only after you grant explicit consent through our CookieYes cookie banner. No browsing data is shared with advertising networks.
We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If additional analytics or marketing tools are introduced in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated, the relevant cookies added to the tables above, and your renewed explicit consent will be requested before placing any new non-essential cookies on your device.
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can control and manage cookies in several ways. Please note that removing or blocking certain cookies (particularly those marked as strictly necessary) may affect the functionality of this website.

Opt-out tools for third-party services
- Google: You can opt out of Google's use of cookies for advertising via Google Ads Settings. For information about Google Fonts data practices, see Google Fonts Privacy FAQ.
- Industry opt-out tools: Your Online Choices (EU) and Digital Advertising Alliance (US) allow you to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating networks.
Do Not Track (DNT)
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. As there is no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, we do not currently alter our data collection practices in response to DNT signals. We will reassess this position as standards mature.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, when we add new features, integrate third-party services, or to reflect changes in applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, seek renewed consent if new non-essential cookies are introduced. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
